The Orchestration Gap

UAV feed Operator
Radar track Operator
RF monitor Operator
USV telemetry Operator

Four feeds arriving on their own terms — a UAV feed, a radar track, an RF monitor, USV telemetry — and each one with its own operator underneath it. Four separate stacks, none of them talking to the others.

Autonomous systems are advancing. Operations remain fragmented.

UAVs, UGVs, USVs and other autonomous systems are becoming increasingly capable. Every system brings its own control architecture, data and interface. As fleets become more heterogeneous, operators face a harder problem: orchestrating heterogeneous systems around shared objectives in real time, across the edge and the command layer.

The challenge is no longer individual platform autonomy. It is orchestrated autonomy at mission scale.

The Mission Layer

One mission layer. Built for the edge.

Driif Mission OS integrates platform state, telemetry, sensor inputs and operator intent into a unified operational environment, with mission logic distributed from command to edge.

Heterogeneous Integration

Integrate platforms, payloads and sensors across OEMs and domains without replacing existing deployed systems.

Shared Operational Picture

Bring platform state, telemetry and sensor data into a common view of the operating environment.

Edge-Native Execution

Execute defined mission logic and autonomous behaviours closer to the asset, including under degraded connectivity.

Human Authority

Apply policy and command authority across the system while enabling defined actions to execute autonomously at the edge.

Sovereign

Deploy the mission layer in the environments and configurations your operation requires.

Force Multiplier

Coordinate existing platforms more effectively instead of solving every capability gap by adding more hardware.

04 — How Mission OS Operates

Orchestrate the mission. Not just individual systems.

Plan

Define mission objectives, operating constraints, assets and task relationships across the force.

An operating area over a port and airfield: the objective is designated on the container terminal, a no-fly zone covers the airfield, a shallow-water limit follows the coast, and a UAV, UGV and USV are positioned at their staging points.

Task

Dynamically assign and reassign assets based on mission objectives, platform state and available capability.

The same operating area. The objective decomposes into three tasks, each binding to the asset whose capability matches: survey to the UAV, screen to the USV, inspect to the UGV. Routes solve around the authored constraints — the air route stays clear of the no-fly zone, the surface route holds at the shallow-water limit. The UGV's endurance falls to 12 percent and releases its task, which rebinds to the UAV and solves a longer route around the no-fly zone to the terminal.

Fuse

Correlate telemetry, sensor inputs and mission context to maintain a shared operational picture.

The same operating area, with the routes solved in Task carried as quiet context. Each asset sweeps the area it was assigned in Task, following the route it solved: the UAV covers the survey area, the USV the screen area, the UGV the terminal it was sent to inspect. Where the survey and screen coverages overlap, two sensors separately detect the same object in slightly different places. The picture holds on the two uncorrelated marks. Then links form between all three assets and information passes along them, and only once the picture is shared do the two detections resolve into a single track, TRK 07, still unclassified.

Sense

Interpret the fused picture to identify changes, activity and emerging conditions across the mission.

The same operating area, carrying TRK 07 forward from Fuse, still unclassified. Six faint pulses check different points against the pattern of normal activity in turn — five fade, matched to routine traffic and dismissed. One, near the port terminal, does not fade: it holds and brightens as a change with no baseline match, and the readout updates from interpreting the picture to one of six patterns held. TRK 07's flag settles and clears, its correlation already logged, attention having moved to the new pattern.

Execute

Push defined tasks and mission logic to the edge, allowing assets to continue operating through link degradation or loss.

All three assets are running their assigned tasks and the links between them are carrying traffic. The links begin to degrade: packets slow, then stall where they are, and the mesh goes dark. Nothing else stops. The sensor sweeps keep running across all three areas, each asset shows a local decision loop, and the position of TRK 07 keeps updating with no link to report it over.

Adapt

Reconfigure tasking and coordination as the operational picture changes.

The link is still down and the two other assets are still sweeping their areas. A new contact appears close to the ground vehicle and is classified hostile, with a standoff ring around it. The ground vehicle's inspect task is released, its route to the terminal fades, and it turns toward the new contact and holds at standoff — every part of it decided locally, with no link to ask over.

05 — Applications

For autonomous missions across defence and industry.

Driif applies the same mission architecture to distinct operational environments, integrating the platforms, sensors, and command systems already deployed.

06 — Products

Purpose-built for different mission requirements.

Driif Mission OS provides the underlying architecture for autonomous operations. VIPER and NEXUS apply that architecture to distinct operational requirements.
